Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate the use of psychotropic drugs of detention inpatients in our hospital. MethodsOne-day prescriptions of psychotropic drugs for detention inpatients in our hospital were analyzed. ResultsSecond-generation antipsychotics were predominant psychotropic drugs, and the most widely used agent is risperidone. Benzodiazepines were regularly used as anxiolytics-hypnotics. The usage rate of valproic acid was relatively high and associate adverse reactions should be alerted. Dosages of psychotropic drugs were on the recommended therapeutic ranges generally. The percentage of prescriptions consisting of two drugs (42.65%) was higher than prescriptions of monotherapy (29.41%), and regimens were reasonable for most cases. ConclusionCurrently, the use of psychotropic drugs for detention inpatients in our hospital is generally reasonable.
